Ahhhh…the first changing leaves of Autumn…my favorite time of year! I am pleased to say I have recently returned from a much needed and well deserved (I can say that right?!)vacation. I made the pilgrimage back to the lake cabin of my youth, where I taught both my husband and my son the ways of the angler amidst the sublime weather and the smell of boat fuel. Yes, I caught many fish, and my husband built a fire to make the Gods themselves jealous. The stars, the trees, the loons……ahhhhhh, everything was perfect.
That being said, my return home to the lab was equally as pleasurable. I spent a large bit of my vacation time shoveling the discarded charred thoughts of my brain furnace (that’s right, I said brain furnace) out of most every crevice, and really made a lot of room for new ideas, new projects, and new directions to take my recent work. I don’t think the purge could have come at a better time, when I opened the door to my home awaiting me was my much anticipated shipment of taxidermy materials!
Taxidermy materials you say? WTF?
Well, I’ve been doing my share of material hoarding the past two weeks. As I had said before, this month is primarily dedicated to building up “stock” and getting the beasts of my lab ready for public display. October, November, and December are all rapidly filling up with shows…..so I’m hiding away in my subterranean laboratory doctoring up as many monsters as I can! Of these monsters, I have been contacted by the infamous Mr. Jerry Vile to do some taxidermy mounts trailing over the next month or so. I figured I would get the blood moving through my slice-em-dice-em neurons by sharpening my skills on micro-animals; birds, mice, chipmunks….you know, tiny things that have the misfortune of dying anywhere in my lawn lol. So far I have a freezer full, and finally..FINALLY..the preservatives have made there way here (and just in time…my pizza rolls needed to go somewhere). Of course, and as usual, I have given myself 8,000 things to do… but soon enough pictures of my “prep-mounts” should be popping up on here among the squid, lamps, and circus freaks.
Annnnyways, here are some pictures of some developing works born today and soon to mature. The theme here is as you may have guessed, Deep Sea life, and both of these animals will be mounted atop back-lit bases to give that eerie submersible spotlight glow!
P.S. The angler is being fitted for dentures, until then…enjoy the gums!Ā lol

I love you so hard. I’ve got a zombie undersea theme going on with ink over my entire body, so naturally your work is super-fitting. MUST BUY SOME! But I don’t do little, I want a giant honkin’ sea critter to lord over my studio š
